My self-summary Propose an edit

Just a normal, sane female trying to live and learn about life in an insane world. Basically just looking for someone happy with a good heart. Loyalty and honesty are the 2 main qualities I'm looking for, so if you're a liar or a cheater... keep moving, nothing to see here. Please don't be arrogant or self-important- You should know the difference between confidence and arrogance. A healthy sexual appetite is also a plus ;)

About me: I've got a pretty universal sense of humor, so I can appreciate almost any kind (this does not include Blue Collar Comedy fyi) but I do have a soft spot for sarcasm and dry humor.

Intelligence is my #1 turn-on, hands down, and the first thing I always notice about a guy. It's great if you're really passionate about something. I love hearing people go on and on about what really motivates or drives them, even if I have no idea what they're talking about.

97% of the theories I have about life and the world around me are based on the Infinite Monkey Theorem. The other 3% can be explained by the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

I am a firm believer that anything is possible with enough willpower and hard work. I take responsibility for my actions and I don't make excuses for myself or others. I think I have good common sense, something I've noticed is (unfortunately) lacking in most people. If I don't like something, I change it. By the same token, I'm a pretty straightforward person. I don't lie, I don't play games, and I HATE drama. I know every girl says that, but I promise I really mean it!

I have an intense desire to move away from Texas, explore the world, and live somewhere else (just for a year or two) before I settle down and start my life. I've always wanted to end up in Texas (preferably Austin), but I would LOVE to move to NYC, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, the UK... most any place in Europe I guess, but NYC remains at the top of my list :] I'd love to meet someone who shares the same sense of adventure!

In other news, I'm currently training for a half-marathon in December, so I've temporarily switched into hardcore fitness mode. I hate running, so why not, right?

I have dark brown hair and grey eyes. I'm naturally blonde. My hair color changes a lot :P

I have 2 chinese dwarf hamsters, Boo and Fluffy. They're tiny and fat and cute <3

I'm going as Sarah Palin for Halloween. It's going to be fucking awesome. EDIT: Awesomeness confirmed.

Oh, and I like non sequiturs. But you already knew that.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I graduated from UT Austin in July 2007 with a BS in Mathematics and minors in Computer Science, Biology, and Psychology.

For the past 2 1/2 years I've been working in a computational biology lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center doing research on plagiarism in biomedical literature. Sounds fascinating, right? The correct answer to that question would be no.

But I love it! :] I am twice published and FINALLY just finished writing my third paper, which I'm hoping to get published soon. *crosses fingers*

I'm also entering UTD's part-time MBA program in the Spring, so I can fulfill my true calling of being a soulless corporate whore. I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, but right now my desire to remain financially independent greatly outweighs that of going back to school full-time, so I'll just have to compromise!

I'm really good at Propose an edit

listening, getting along with people, learning and picking things up quickly, taking responsibility for my actions, applying creative solutions to scientific problems, kissing, being lazy, being random, spelling and grammar, sarcasm, sudoku, math, cooking (but not baking- I still have grill marks on my foot from the last time I attempted that), sleeping too much, sleeping too little, being financially independent, being noctural against society's wishes, doing my part to save the planet by occasionally recycling whenever it's convenient, using the phrase "Women be shoppin" to diffuse awkward pauses in conversation (ote to self: does not work), and pretending to understand things when I have no idea what's going on (the key is excessive nodding and narrowing of the eyes accompanied by the occasional chin stroke)

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

My boobs, much to my discontent.

The next thing they might notice is the sound of crickets chirping in response to the awkward joke I've just made designed to draw the attention away from my boobs.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Movies: Fight Club, Dumb & Dumber, American Beauty, The 25th Hour, American History X, Rushmore, Requiem for a Dream, The Shawshank Redemption, Office Space, Harold & Kumar, City of God, Crash, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Labyrinth, Knocked Up, There Will Be Blood, The Fall, Man on Wire

Books: Memoirs of a Geisha, The Stranger, The Sirens of Titan, anything Vonnegut

Food: Italian, Indian, and Greek are prob my top 3 cuisines. I also love sushi <3

TV Shows: 30 Rock (the greatest show on TV! Tina Fey is my hero), The Office, The Colbert Report, Scrubs, Family Guy, Conan (the redhead not the barbarian), The Simpsons, South Park, Nova, most anything on PBS, and anything on the Discovery Health Channel (no seriously, anything. especially Adoption Stories)

Music: most everything but country with an emphasis on hip-hop. more specifically... Atmosphere, Jurassic 5, Coldplay, A Tribe Called Quest, Jay-Z, Brother Ali, Kanye West, Dangermouse, Moby, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Ludacris, Nas, Outkast, The Pharcyde, Portishead, RJD2, Smashing Pumpkins, NERD, UNKLE, Binary Star, Lovage, Iron & Wine, Citizen Cope, Lupe Fiasco!

Hip-Hop saved my life. OK not really, but it's a heartwarming sentiment, right?

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Here's a list of things I've recently been caught doing on a Friday night:

-Having drinks with friends at a bar
-Seeing a movie, or watching one at home with friends
-Going out to dinner
-Writing papers for work D:
-Relaxing at home after an exhausting 38-hour workweek
-Getting into a fight with a doorman in Uptown (for the record I was NOT drunk and believe me, if you knew the story it was COMPLETELY justified)
-Swearing off certain subdevelopments of Dallas (see above)
-Going to a party at a friend's house
-Applying to grad school
-Running at the gym
-Spending the night in Fort Worth with my parents
-Kissing a girl and liking it. AND THEN GOING TO HELL
-"Fantasy shopping" online (No, this is probably not what you think it is :P This is where I go to a website, add a bunch of stuff I like to my cart as though I'm going to purchase it, and then just close the window. I know it sounds crazy, but it's actually somewhat cathartic! Kind of like writing a letter to someone and then throwing it away. But different. And weirder, probably.)
-Going to a Lupe Fiasco concert! :D
...the list goes on...

I just moved to Dallas a few months ago so I'm still exploring the city.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I used to play WoW.

You should message me if Propose an edit

You like curves and brains (bonus points if you're a zombie). Or if you are skilled in the art of compromise. Or if you think we'd genuinely get along. Or if our "values" coincide, whatever that means. Or if we have similar interests. And aren't +/-15 years apart. Sorry guys, but I don't plan on entering my cougar phase for AT LEAST another 2-3 years.
